One month before the start of the U18 and U20 African Championships in Abidjan 2019, champions Marie-Josée Ta Lou and Murielle Ahouré have been named sponsors of this continental competition. It was at the official launch of this major meeting on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee Côte d'Ivoire.
Information welcomed with joy by Ta Lou Marie Josée who expressed her pride of having been chosen by the organizing committee. However, she hoped that the young Ivorian athletes who will be competing will be able to take inspiration from her example as well as that of Murielle Ahouré in order to honor Côte d'Ivoire and ensure the success of Ivorian athletics.
As for the president of the Organizing Committee, Cissé Salimata, she invited all the Ivorian youth to come massively to the Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium to support the young athletes in competition. She also said that the entry to the stadium will be free, while urging sponsors to associate their brand with this event which will see the participation of 54 African countries members of the African Athletics Confederation.
Regarding the second sponsor of these championships in Africa, Murielle Ahouré, she was absent at this ceremony because she is currently in the United States. But Cissé Salimata has reassured that the gazelle Bonoua has already agreed and will indeed be present for this great party of African youth to be held from April 16 to 20 next.
