Abdelhakim Dib (Algeria), Ibrahim Shehu-Gusau (Nigeria) and Jackson Tuwei (Kenya), new presidents of the Northern,Western and Eastern Regions

The president of the Algerian Athletics Federation (FAA) Abdelhakim Dib, was elected head of the North Region of the African Athletics Confederation after the elections held in Zeralda (Algiers). Dib won three votes to two for Tunisian candidate Khaled Amara.
Thus, the six nations forming this Zone 1 north of the CAA are: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia.
In addition, Nigerian Ibrahim Shehu-Gusau was elected for a four-year term as West Region President, replacing Senegal's Momar Mbaye. This change took place in Lome, Togo, in the presence of representatives of the 15 member countries of this Region.
General Jackson Tuwei (Kenya) was elected leader of the East Region at the end of the elective congress held in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
