The Interim President of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) paid a working visit to CAA headquarters in Dakar from August 29 to September 2, 2026. During this visit, many topics were discussed, including the dates of the Regional Elective Congresses.
In agreement with the Local Organizing Committee, a slight adjustment has been made to the dates of the CAA events to be held in Eswatini in 2027.
Specifically, the program has been moved forward by one day compared to the original dates to dedicate March 19th to the technical meeting for Cross-Country and other protocol activities. Therefore, the new dates are as follows:
- Council Meeting: March 17
- Elective Congress: March 18
- Technical Meeting: March 19
- Cross-Country Championship: March 20

- Northern Region: January 3, 2027, in Tunis, Tunisia
- Central Region: January 5, 2027, in Bangui, Central African Republic
- Western Region: January 9, 2027, in Lagos, Nigeria
- Southern Region: January 13, 2027 in Johannesburg, South Africa
- Eastern Region: January 16, 2027 in Djibouti, Djibouti
In this regard, the list of elected officials from these regional elections must reach the CAA no later than January 31, 2027 at midnight GMT.
