The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) announces that its 31st Congress is scheduled to take place on March 19, 2027, in Mbabane, Eswatini. The Council will meet beforehand on March 18, 2027.
During this elective congress, ONLY the CAA President will be elected by vote. This person will succeed President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, who passed away last 13 May while in office.
Regional Presidents and Individual Members of the Council are elected at their respective congresses, in accordance with the quotas set out in the Statutes. Their election is ratified by the CAA Congress, as is that of the Chair of the Athletes' Commission, in their capacity as an ex-officio member of the CAA Council.
Regions must hold their elective general assemblies before January 21, 2027, and submit to the CAA the list of elected members who will represent them on the future CAA Council no later than January 31, 2027.
