World Athletics Road Running Championships: 340 athletes on the track

Around 340 athletes – including Olympic and world champions – from some 56 teams will compete in the inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championships Riga 23 on Sunday (1October).

 

Global titles in the road mile, 5km and half marathon are up for grabs in the Latvian capital, as those three distances are contested together at one championships for the first time.

The elite action starts with the women's 5km at 11:50am local time (EEST) and ends with the men's half marathon from 2:15pm. You can keep up to date with the latest on the World Athletics website, its associated platforms, and via a free live stream.
